Advice for your patients

Upon diagnosis of IBS, you can also suggest the following changes to your patient, which could improve and reduce their symptoms:

  • Lifestyle changes – Advise your patients to make the most out of leisure time and create time for relaxation to reduce stress levels.
  • Diet – Recommend your patient keeps a food diary. It will enable them to track and analyse the food they eat against the symptoms they experience. By identifying certain foods which trigger flare ups, patients can avoid these in the future.
  • Product/treatment – With so many products available to patients, it is important they understand the symptoms they are experiencing for identifying fast and effective relief when they need it. For patients experiencing abdominal pain, Buscopan is clinically proven to address this.[1]
